I know booking a photoshoot can feel like a big step, especially when you’ve got little ones to think about. Here are some of the most common questions answered to help you feel prepared and relaxed before your session.
How do the sessions work?
Every session is completely baby-led. Your little one’s comfort and safety come first, so we take things at their pace. Whether they’re happiest in your arms, snuggled on the posing bed or wriggling on the floor, I capture them just as they are. Newborn sessions allow plenty of time for feeding, changing and cuddles in between, so you never feel rushed.
How do I book, and when is best?
Sessions can be booked via email, Instagram or Facebook. A session fee is required to secure your booking.
-
Newborn – best booked after your 20-week scan, with the shoot ideally taking place when baby is 7–21 days old.
-
Maternity – usually between 7–8 months, when your bump is beautifully visible and you’re still comfortable.
-
Sitter – once your baby can sit steadily without support.
-
First Birthday – ideally 3–4 weeks before the big day.
-
Family – anytime! Outdoor shoots may need to be rescheduled if the Welsh weather doesn’t play nice.
What’s the studio like?
My cosy home studio in Beddau, South Wales, is designed to feel welcoming and relaxed. It’s fully equipped with wraps, props and a carefully chosen wardrobe, and always kept at a comfortable temperature for little ones. Parents often describe it as calm and homely, the perfect space to unwind while I work.
What should we wear?
My style is clean, simple and timeless, so I recommend light, neutral colours and avoiding bold patterns or logos. For maternity sessions, you can choose from my studio wardrobe (kimonos and a simple dress), or bring your own outfits that make you feel comfortable and beautiful. For children, I also have a selection of simple clothing and wraps, but it’s always a good idea to bring your favourites along.
What happens after the session?
You’ll receive a private online gallery within 2–3 weeks (sometimes longer during peak months). From there, you can choose your package and order products such as albums, wall art or keepsake boxes. Digital images are delivered as high-resolution downloads, ready to print and share.
Can I keep my images private?
Absolutely. Your gallery is always private, and I only ever share images online with your permission. I’ll ask you at booking whether you’re happy for me to use a few favourites for my portfolio or social media.
